Vancouver Island Pickleball, a one-stop resource for the Island’s pickleball community

Victoria, BC - Vancouver Island Pickleball (VIPB) and website vancouverislandpickleball.ca officially launched on January 29, 2025, providing an Island-focused, pickleball resource and community hub for one of North America’s fastest growing sports.
VIPB will provide the local community (as well as year-round visitors and travellers) with an Island-focused pickleball resource, featuring easy-to-find information, Island pickleball club listings, a pickleball coaching directory, and more. At launch, the website features a list of outdoor and indoor recreational courts from the south to north Island regions, social media channels featuring group forums where members can interact with one another, post events, and meet other Island groups and players. VIPB provides players with the information they need to enjoy their Island pickleball experience, while the website’s blog will feature player profiles, event coverage, news and timely updates.
Pickleball participation in Canada has continued to surge in recent years, with Pickleball Canada announcing 80,000 registered members in December of 2024, up over a reported 36,985 in November of 2022. Island numbers have followed a similar pattern, with Victoria Regional Pickleball Association announcing over 1000 members in a November email update, up from approximately 400 members just two years prior.
Visitors are encouraged to contribute to the growth of the VIPB website and community by submitting additional court listings, revisions and updates, as well as upcoming Island pickleball events to feature on social media and the website’s event calendar.
